On Saturday 9 November at our last coffee morning of 2019 we had great support at Clapham Village Hall and raised a tremendous £348.10. Thanks to all helped at this and all our other events in 2019 – we couldn’t do this without you!
Please note: we plan to scale down our bric-a-brac and book sales due to difficulties storing and transporting goods. Thank you to everyone who, in the past, has kindly donated items for sale.
However we would still appreciate donations of raffle prizes and good quality pet bedding and accessories.
Thanks to all who came to our coffee morning in Hellifield on 12 October. We’re pleased to report that we raised £165.00. Thank you to all who helped too.
Afternoon teas in Langcliffe Institute on 8 September were a roaring success! Thanks to a lot of hard work by our volunteers and plenty of customers, the event raised £378.80. Well done everyone – a fantastic effort!
Our coffee morning in High Bentham on 17 August 2019 was well attended and meant we made a grand total of £300.20. A great result – thanks all!
And we had another successful fund-raising effort in August on 24th in Settle where we sold most of our bric-a-brac with the result being £118 for our charity.
Clapham Street Market day at the end of July was wet – very wet! But that didn’t deter a hardy bunch of volunteers from doing their best to sell bric-a-brac from our soggy stall. By the time the heavy rain set in during the afternoon and everyone abandoned ship, we’d raised £70.19. Thanks to all.
Our coffee morning in Clapham on 13 April 2019 raised a much appreciated £218.54. Two weeks later, a hectic afternoon of serving tea and cake in Langcliffe on 28 April added £367.42 to this month’s fund-raising total.

Thanks to everyone who supported our coffee mornings at Hellifield in February and High Bentham in March. We raised £185.90 and £270.30 respectively.
We ended 2018 on quite a high! Our coffee morning and Christmas Fair at Clapham on 8 December was a jolly event which raised £510.30, followed by the annual Christmas Raffle draw (with winners listed on our ‘News’ page) and a ‘Jacob’s Join’ festive lunch for all our volunteers added excitement! Thanks to everyone who has helped at our events during 2018.
On top of this, we need to thank the Co-op Community Fund and all the local members who contributed to the massive sum of £3,624.62 that was presented to our President in Bentham to mark the end of our spell as one of the three chosen local charities for 2018. Huge thanks to all.

A wet start to the afternoon on 9 September 2018 meant that lots of people took refuge in Langcliffe Institute to enjoy refreshments served by our wonderful volunteers. It must have been the amazing cakes on offer that resulted in us raising a wonderful £330.20 for our funds. Thanks to all for helping out and especially to Elaine for organising the event.
Thanks to all for helping out at a car boot sale in High Bentham on Sunday 2 September 2018 – and for the £72.60 raised.
We returned to High Bentham Town Hall for a coffee morning on Saturday 18 August 2018. Thanks to the efforts of all our fantastic helpers and all who attended, we were rewarded by raising a grand total of £364.40 profit. Amazing!
A spur-of-the moment decision to take our bric-a-brac to a car boot sale at High Bentham on Sunday 5 August 2018 was worth the effort – we raised £101! All help much appreciated.
The weather put a dampener on our fund-raising efforts at Clapham Street Market on 28 July when it was too wet to set up a stall in the early morning. Things improved in the afternoon so we were able to sell the wonderful cakes baked by our supporter, Debra, raising £22.20. Thank you!

The weather for Bentham Carnival on 2 June 2018 was disappointing but didn’t spoil the fun! Our toy tombola was a hit with the youngsters and we made £96.60 for our funds. Thanks to all involved.
Lots of thanks are due to all our supporters who worked so hard at Langcliffe Institute on Sunday 29 April to provide afternoon teas to visitors. And a special thank you to Elaine Sargeson who organised the event for Bentham Pet Rescue. A much appreciated £225.53 was raised.
Saturday 14 April saw another great fund-raising effort, this time at Clapham Village Hall. In total the coffee morning raised a splendid £398.70 with Bentham Pet Rescue’s share being £173.00. (Craven Cat Rescue and Derian House raised much needed funds from the event too.)
We had a brilliant result from our coffee morning in Bentham on Saturday 24 March where we raised £356.50. Thanks to everyone involved.

What a great way to end the year! Thank you to everyone who came along to the coffee morning at Clapham Village Hall on Saturday 2 December 2017, both to help with the event and to support us. Including last minute sales of tickets for our Christmas Raffle we raised a fantastic £356.30!
But the biggest thank you goes to all our wonderful volunteers, many of whom stayed behind at Clapham to share a magnificent Jacob’s Join lunch. Whether it’s cleaning out the pens in the sanctuary, socializing the cats, supporting or helping at our fund-raising events or behind-the-scenes administration, Bentham & District Pet Rescue says a huge THANK YOU!
And last but definitely not least we must thank the very generous Lakeland Radio listeners and other supporters who contributed to its Christmas appeal. Along with other rescue charities in the area, we received a massive amount of food, toys and treats for the cats in our care over the festive season. Thank you so much for your kindness … and especially to Poppy the Jack Russell who attached a gift tag to her donation which said “to all the animals less fortunate than myself“.

In October we lost one of our treasured supporters, Marion Casey, who died suddenly aged 82 years.Marion was a regular helper at many of our events, most often taking charge of our cake stalls. She was loved by all of us who knew her and we’ll miss her cheery smiles at the coffee mornings ahead.

The jewellery stall at the Christmas Fair at Victoria Hall in Settle on 25 November raised a much appreciated £69.75. Many thanks, Chris and Sheila!
Thank you to everyone who helped at the Autumn Fair at Clapham Village Hall on Saturday 11 November 2017 and all who came along to support us. The event was also raising funds for Craven Cat Rescue and for Derian House. Bentham Pet Rescue’s total came to £262.98.
The event at Ingleton on Sunday 29 October was not busy but we raised a worthwhile £58.20 nonetheless. Thank you everyone!
Thank you to everyone who came to our coffee morning in Burton in Lonsdale on Saturday 14 October, both to help and to support. It’s our first event in the village and though we didn’t seem to have many people through the door, we somehow managed to raise £238.05! Many thanks to all – we’ll be back!
Another successful event was held at Hellifield on Saturday 7 October with £167.96 raised at the coffee morning there. Many thanks to all who helped.

Who would believe that people would come out to support us in Langcliffe on Sunday 10 September when the weather was so atrocious. Thankfully they did! And we raised a tremendous £236.92 – that’s a lot of cups of tea and yummy cakes! Thanks to everyone who helped make this a success.
A busy August holiday weekend for lots of our volunteers. Thanks to everyone who helped at and supported our coffee morning at the Town Hall in High Bentham on Saturday 26 August. Everyone must have made an extra effort because, after paying for the hire of the hall, we raised £382.05! (And a special thank you for the individual donation presented to us at the event.) The weather on Monday 28 didn’t encourage people to spend time outside at Low Bentham Street Market but nevertheless we raised £24.20 from the sale of bric-a-brac. It all helps! Many thanks to all.
Things didn’t start well at Clapham Street Fair on 22 July with pouring rain for most of the morning but we stuck it out … and what a good thing we did! With the sun coming out in the afternoon, we were selling stuff left, right and centre and finished the day with a profit of £218.58. Amazing! Thank you.
On 1st July we returned to Hellifield for our second coffee morning this year. Despite being a quieter event this time, we made a total of £171.35. Many thanks to all who helped and supported.
Thanks to the kind ladies in Hornby who supported our first coffee morning in the village. We don’t yet know how much money we raised but everything counts! And grateful thanks to all our helpers too.

On 30 April 2017 Langcliffe Teas was another successful event organised by our supporter, Elaine. In total it raised a wonderful £226.50. Very many thanks to all – helpers and supporters.
